Ethernet Grounding Adapter Kit
An ElectraHealth Original — Handmade in the USA

Shielded Ethernet cable (Cat6 shielded, Cat7, or Cat8 — all Cat7/Cat8 is shielded by spec, but Cat6 comes in both shielded and unshielded versions, so check yours) blocks RF interference on its own, shield or no ground needed. But the shield has another job that most people in the EMF-aware world care about more: keeping 60Hz AC from conducting onto the cable itself. That part only works if the shield is grounded. Most consumer devices — laptops, routers, printers, modems, switches — don’t provide that ground through their Ethernet port. This adapter grounds the shield, and can also ground the device it’s plugged into.

What It Does
• Grounds the shield on Cat6 (shielded only), Cat7, or Cat8 Ethernet cable at the device level
• Stops 60Hz AC from conducting onto the cable shield
• Can ground the connected device itself (laptop, hub, etc.), not just the cable shield
• Reduces high-frequency contact current on ungrounded devices, like a laptop on charger power
• Works with any device with an Ethernet port that lacks its own ground — laptops, printers, routers, modems, switches
• Tested on gigabit internet with no loss of speed. It likely works at higher speeds too, but we haven’t tested that yet — we’ll update this listing once we have.

Not needed for: desktop computers with grounded 3-prong power cables — they’re already grounded through the outlet.

Requires: shielded Cat6, Cat7, or Cat8 Ethernet cable. Cat5 is never shielded and won’t work with this kit. Unshielded Cat6 also won’t work — there’s no shield to ground.

Who This Is For
Anyone running shielded Ethernet who wants the shield actually grounded, especially:
• Laptops and other devices without a grounded power connection
• Long Ethernet runs between rooms or through walls, where you want the shield grounded along the whole path

How to Use It
1. Plug the included 1-foot shielded CAT6 cable into your device.
2. Plug the other end into the grounding adapter.
3. Plug the 11-foot grounding cord into a grounded outlet. Verify the outlet is actually grounded first — an outlet tester takes about 10 seconds.
4. Run your main Ethernet cable from the adapter to your router, switch, or next device. Fully bi-directional — set it up in whatever order works for your space.
